Most Italian measures to combat citrus tristeza virus are approved

Brussels, 22/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Commission decided to approve most of the measures contained in the programmes for combating the citrus tristeza virus in Italy. The programmes were notified by Campania, Basilicata and Sicily. Citrus tristeza is the most destructive virus affecting citrus fruit. The trees of most citrus cultivars die once infected by the virus. The programmes for combating citrus tristeza presented by the above-mentioned regions are funded...
