Strasbourg, 12/05/2005 (Agence Europe) - Wednesday's plenary debate on the appointment of Paul Wolfowitz as president of the World Bank provided the opportunity for most MEPs and for the president of the Council, Nicolas Schmit, and European Commissioner Joaquin Almunia to deplore the disparity between the EU's political and economic weight and its participation in the governance of international financial institutions.
