15/04/2005 (Agence Europe) - German Justice Minister Brigitte Zypries was somewhat optimistic when speaking to her EU colleagues in Luxembourg about the decision that the Court in Karlsruhe should come to in several weeks from now on the constitutional compatibility of the European arrest warrant (see EUROPE 8928 for the case on the request for extradition in Spain of German-Syrian national Mamoun Darkazanli, accused of support Al-Qaida). During the hearing on Thursday at the constitutional court, Green deputy Christian Ströbele complained of the limited role of the Bundestag on the subject of the European arrest warrant.
