MEPs want to play greater role in inspections of CESR's democratic accountability

Brussels, 05/04/2005 (Agence Europe) - Led by its president the French Socialist Pervenche Berès, a delegation of the economic and monetary committee of the EP met Arthur Docters Van Leeuwen, president of the Committee of European Securities Regulators (CESR) at the end of March in Paris. Discussions focused on the importance of transparency in CESR's working methods and ways for reinforcing its democratic accountability vis-à-vis the European institutions, notably the Parliament....
