WTO verdict on geographical indications

Brussels, 15/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - Confusion appears to be reigning at the EU and the plaintiffs (USA and Australia) following the WTO verdict on Tuesday on the Community system on geographical indications on food products. Washington and Canberra complained to the WTO because they considered that the Community regulation of 1992 protecting around 700 geographical indications constituted discrimination.
