EREC and EUREC want 7th research programme to earmark EUR 250 million a year to research into renewable energy

Brussels, 04/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - Outlining on Tuesday their priorities for the 7th EU Research Framework Programme for renewable energy, the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) and the European Agency of Renewable Energy Centres (EUREC) expressed concern at the fall in public spending on research and development into renewable energy, and called on political decision-makers in Brussels to boost to EUR 250 million the annual budget devoted to renewable energy in the 7th FP.
