Brussels, 11/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Commission is to take position next Wednesday on the updated stability or convergence programmes of seven Member States (Lithuania, Latvia, Slovenia, Hungary, Cyprus, United Kingdom and Spain). Portugal's stability programme will be analysed at a later date, as will that of Greece, which Athens wished to amend to take account of the recommendations made to bring its excessive deficit down (see EUROPE of 10 February, p.10).
