PES Group to extend regular invitations to Socialists of Cyprus, including northern part of island

Brussels, 08/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - A delegation of the European Parliament Socialist Group formed of Jan Marinus Wiersma, Hannes Swoboda, Mechtild Rothe and Panagiotis Beglitis visited Cyprus from 4 to 6 February in order to strengthen its contacts with the “sister party”, EDEK, in the Republic of Cyprus, and to develop relations with Social Democratic movements in the northern part of Cyprus, and especially with the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), a press release states.
