According to the latest statistics from the Hungarian trade and investment development agency, Romania, which is home to 1.6 million Hungarians, is the first port of call for Hungarian foreign direct investment (FDI). 610 Hungarian companies were set upon Romania in the first eleven months of 2004, bringing the total number to 4,948, the agency states.
