08/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - Spain launched a massive amnesty process for naturalising illegal immigrants on Monday 7 February, which could affect up to one million people and will close on 7 May. At the informal Justice and Home Affairs Council in Luxembourg at the end of January, German Minister for Home Affairs Otto Schily criticised Spain, deeming that it should have informed its partners of this process, which concerns them indirectly once the immigrants have been naturalised.
