Schmitt report favours single licence for air-traffic controllers

Brussels, 07/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - The committee on transports of the European Parliament unanimously approved the report by German Christian Democrat Ingo Schmitt, who supports the idea of creating a standard Community licence for air traffic controllers. Among the advantages of harmonising national systems for issuing licences for air traffic controllers are: improved safety (through improved communication) and the possibility for controllers to work in other countries of the EU.
