19/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - Denmark's Liberal prime minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, has called early elections on 8 February 2005 rather than in the autumn as planned. Rasmussen wants to leave a gap between the general elections and the 10 November local elections. In 2001, Anders Fogh Rasmussen took over from Social-Democrat Poul Nyrup Rasmussen (now a Member of the European Parliament), Polls published on Tuesday gave his party good support, with between 31.5% and 31.8% of the vote.
