Brussels, 19/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - The ambassadors of the European Union, who met on Tuesday within the EU's Political and Security Committee (COPS), approved the principle of EU participation in the deployment of an African Union (AU) reconnaissance mission in Somalia. The AU mission aims to assess the possibility of sending a peace-keeping mission to the country at a later date. COPS is expected in weeks to come to define the arrangements for EU participation in the AU mission.
