John Monks calls on European policy-makers to "act now" in support of economic recovery

Brussels, 16/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - Faced with a new slowdown in growth and the fall in the dollar, European decision-makers have to act now to support internal demand. This recommendation was vigorously made by the European Confederation of Trade Unions (ETUC) to the European Council on Friday.

The ETUC is therefore proposing to extend the growth initiative to achieve recovery. The European Council is expected to call on Member States to present "national plans for economic recovery",...
