Commission clears Slovak Telecom's acquisition of sole control over EuroTel's mobile telephony business

Brussels, 16/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has granted approval to the EU Merger Regulation of the acquisition by incumbent telecommunications operator Slovak Telecom of full ownership of EuroTel Bratislava's mobile telephony business, which it jointly owns with American West. Slovak Telekom already has a 51% stake in Eurotel and will acquire the remaining 49% shareholding in American West, which belongs to Verizon Telecommunications and AT&T Wireless Services.
