25/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - During the general assembly of the UEPC (European Union of Developers and Housebuilders) on 11-12 November in Berlin, Mr Eren, president of the Turkish UIC Federation presented a report on the relationship between his country and the European Union. A press statement indicated that "given the enormous progress made in Turkey, especially in the field of legislation, the General Assembly reconfirmed its support to this project" of Turkish accession to the EU, indicated a press statement. According the communiqué, the assembly considers that not only had "political and economic democracy" been achieved in Turkey to a level that would allow it to join the Union but also that the "support Europe will give to Turkey will set an example to other countries of Muslim tradition to follow the same track".
