Strasbourg, 16/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - EPP-ED Group President Hans-Gert Pöttering of Germany said on Tuesday when speaking to the press that the European Parliament has been strengthened by its trial of strength with President Barroso over the composition of the future European Commission. He nonetheless felt that Mr Barroso was "pushed onto the ropes" and that it will be necessary to "foresee more margin for manoeuvre in future".
