Commission adopts strategy to boost fight against piracy and counterfeiting beyond borders of EU

Brussels, 10/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - In order to halt the progression of piracy and counterfeiting beyond the boundaries of the EU, the European Commission on Wednesday adopted a strategy to support the application of intellectual property rights (IPR) in third countries. This action plan will centre around the efficient execution and application of provisions on IPR in the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of the Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) signed in Marrakech in 1994.
