Extraordinary meeting of Committee Bureau and conference on urban and country areas of Europe, with Commissioner Franz Fischler and Dutch minister Cees Veerman

Brussels, 20/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - On the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of the Bureau of the Committee of the Regions (CoR) in The Hague on 21 October, its President Peter Straub will meet Frans Weisglas, President of the Chamber of Representatives, Hans van Baalen, member of the VVD (Dutch Liberal Party), and several representatives of the Dutch Presidency, to discuss the ratification of the Constitution and discuss safeguards for local democracy.
