Brussels, 18/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - Aliki Moschi-Gauger of Greece, President of the association 'Women Artists of the Mediterranean', who has established cross-cultural dialogue between peoples and cultures on either side of the Mediterranean, has been selected for the Woman of EUROPE 2004 prize by a jury chaired by MEP Nicole Fontaine. At the prize-giving ceremony, President Borrell pointed out the European Parliament's activity to reduce sexual inequality. He said that while there were differences between men and women but that was no reason for not aiming at equality in all areas of work and home life. In the light of debate at the European Parliament over the past week, he said he found it difficult to understand the views of people who do not share this idea.
