Luxembourg, 18/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) has decided to grant a EUR 250 million loan in favour of science and innovation in Poland, in the form of a framework-loan which will finance State budgetary allocations. The EIB stresses in a press release that, thanks to its intervention, the Polish government will have long-term resources to successfully carry out investment projects that it deems to be priority. Poland has shown its resolve to integrate into the Lisbon process but the spending in R&D, in both public and private sectors, is at a low level given international standards and, because of budgetary constraints, have even tended to be reduced in recent years.
