Commission to adopt proposal on tolerance ceilings for accidental presence of GMOs in seeds

Brussels, 06/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - This Wednesday, the European Commission will discuss its proposal with regard to setting a limit on the accidental or technically unavoidable presence of GMOs authorised for use in the EU in varieties of seeds which are supposed to be GM-free, and above which, product labelling will be required to highlight the presence of GMOs (see EUROPE of 4 September, p.12 and of 31 August, p.9).
