Seven new Member States from European police office

Brussels, 02/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - Seven new ms of the EU became members on 1 September of Europol, announced a communiqué. These include Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Latvia and Cyprus. The European Police Office has now got 22 members, and indicated that Poland, Estonia and Malta were expected to join before 2005 (joining Europol does not automatically follow from EU membership and demands formal adoption of the Europol Convention by each Member State)....
