France "takes note" of Commission's decision to authorise television advertising for cinema and publications

Brussels, 09/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - The French Culture Minister Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres has "taken note" of the European Commission's request for the ban of television advertising for the cinema and publications sectors to be lifted in France. The Commission sent France a reasoned opinion on this on Wednesday, stating that the French ban is a restriction to the freedom to provide services (see EUROPE of 8 July, p.12).
