New Liberals and Centrists group at least 89 strong

Brussels, 09/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - Meeting in Bath, United Kingdom, on 8 July, the European Liberals approved the formation of the new political group which will bring together the Liberals and Centrists, under the banner of "Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe" (ALDE). Currently, ALDE can count on 89 members. However, this figure is not definitive, as other MEPs may still join the group before the inaugural session of the European Parliament.
