16/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - During his visit to Brazil for the eleventh conference of UNCTAD (Sao Paulo 11-18 June), Poul Nielson Commissioner for Development Policy was expected to meet Marina Silva, Brazilian minister for the environment and Virgilio Viana, secretary of state for the environment and sustainable development of the Amazonian State. Meetings focus on future EU/Brazilian co-operation for conservation and sustainable management of tropical forests in the Amazon basin.
