Legal committee decides to appeal in Court against recording passenger data - EPP-ED votes against

Brussels, 16/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament Committee on Legal Affairs decided on Wednesday to initiate further action before the Court of Justice against the EU/US agreement on recording data on air passengers, an agreement implemented since May (see EUROPE of 16 June, p.13).

Summoned for an extraordinary meeting behind closed doors, the members of the committee voted by 21 votes to 10 in favour of attacking the Council on a question of form as it had taken the decision...
