01/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - Eurochambres has indicated that 20 small and medium sized enterprises from France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, Finland and Sweden took part in the Outdoor Lifestyle trade mission in the context of the EU Gateway to Japan campaign on 17-21 May in Tokyo. A Eurochambres press statement noted that the European Commission considered that the outdoor lifestyle was a sector that offered excellent growth potential. The market size of outdoor lifestyle products in Japan amounts to EUR 6.603 million in domestic sales. According to the communiqué, several European participants at the trade mission said that they were pleasantly surprised by the results obtained. It also pointed out that the EU Gateway to Japan programme launched in 1994 by the European Union sought to help European companies find partners on the Japanese market.
