Irish presidency seeks agreement on asylum procedures constantly being criticised by HCR and NGOs

Brussels, 27/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Irish presidency is dead set on getting an agreement at Thursday's Council on examining asylum demands and is threatening to keep ministers behind for a second day of discussions, if this is not forthcoming. After three and a half years of discussions on this draft, Interior ministers from the Fifteen may actually obtain an agreement.
