Brussels, 13/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - On 30 March The EU Council adopted without discussion the agreement signed on 18 November 2003 between the EU and United States to extend the field of application for their customs co-operation and mutual assistance agreement for the safety of maritime containers. The agreemment affects containers imported, trasferred or circulating under a transit procedure in the EU and US, whatever their provenance (see EUROPE 19 November 2003 and 20 March 2003).
