Peter Ludlow says best candidates to succeed Prodi are Verheugen and Vitorino

Brussels, 05/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - In a reflection on the successor to Romano Prodi, Peter Ludlow from Eurocomment said that it was dangerous stupidity to demand that the new president of the Commission be a Head of State or Head of government (for more details see www.eurocomment.be or info@eurocomment.be). It is no coincidence that none of the three best president of the Commission were former Heads of State or governments, he said (in a reference to Hallstein, Jenkins and Delors)....
