19/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - Janez Potocnik, Commissioner designate for Slovenia, who will be "associated" to Commissioner Günter Verheugen (enlargement) for six months between the enlargement in May and the arrival of the new Commission in November, will be responsible for two specific dossiers: finalisation of the accession process for the ten acceding countries and relations with Mediterranean countries in the context of the policy toward neighbouring countries. In other areas under Mr Verheugen's responsibility, work will be "shared", but all decisions (including those in the areas under Mr Potocnik) will be taken together, Mr Verheugen explained after a meeting with his future colleague.
