Despite unfavourable political context, Fischler invites Fifteen to agree on reform of Mediterranean products, on Monday

Brussels, 18/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - Commissioner Franz Fischler called on member States to reach an agreement as of next Monday on proposals for reform in the tobacco, olive oil and cotton sectors, in order to ensure that the legal texts are ready for 1 May, for EU enlargement. The EU Member State Agriculture Ministers "would be well advised not to drag their feet", he told reporters on Thursday, despite the political conditions which do not seem auspicious for a decision on this issue....
