Concern in Council of Europe at situation of media and local government in Moldova

Brussels, 08/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Council of Europe is concerned at recent developments in Moldova affecting certain media and local public administration. Further to a three-day visit to the Republic, Pascal Mangin, rapporteur of the Council of Europe's Congress of Local and Regional Authorities on local democracy in Moldova, voiced his extreme concern at the suspension of broadcasts by the Euro TV television channel and the Antena C radio station.
