Brussels, 19/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Council of the Union has changed the definitive anti-dumping measures on the import of certain steel products from Romania, among others, in order to come into line with the ruling returned by the European Court of Justice on 9 January 2003. This modification only relates to seamless tubes and pipes in unalloyed iron or steel, built by the companies Petrotub and Republica, and only those aspects of the regulation which led the Court to cancel it, which excludes the non-contested parts, according to the regulation published in the Official Journal L40. The duty these two operators in theory owe is set at 9.8%, but they were both exonerated due to keeping to the commitments they took to the European Commission to protect Community industry form the harmful effects of dumping.
