Brussels, 19/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the European Commission adopted its mid-term evaluation report of the action plan eEUROPE 2005. Its findings revealed that the initiative launched to help the EU fully exploit the potential of the information society has had some encouraging results, but that efforts must be stepped up to share the experience acquired and to adapt services to the needs of the users, rather than concentrate solely on the installation of new technologies or applications. The report will serve as a basis for discussions with the Member States and parties involved, with a view to isolating the changes to be brought to eEurope as of this summer.
