Brussels, 19/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - A couple of days off the deadline of 1 March when unprecedented sanctions may be instigate automatically against American trade in the FSCs affair, the Commission is still hesitating over the decision it must take, following the appeal for flexibility launched by the European employers (EUROPE of 17 February, p.16). "We are still thinking about it", said a spokesperson on Thursday, adding that the decision should not take much longer, and referring to progress already made across the Atlantic, with a view to removing the regime of tax aid to export which was ruled against by the World Trade Organisation. "They are working on it", said a source in Brussels on the legislative revision process underway at the Congress in the United States.
