18/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - On 16 February the European Commission approved its report on "The Protection of the Young at Work", which dealt with the transposition of the directive 94/33/EC of 22 June 1994 on this subject and its application by Member States, based on the reports drafted by the national authorities. National reports figure in the annex of the Commission's report. In its introduction the Commission points out that according to Article 17 of the 1994 directive, it will have to periodically present a report on the application of this directive. Member States will also be obliged to provide it with a report every five years on the implementation of the directive provisions, indicating the points of view of social partners, for example. With regard to transposition of the directive, the report simply focuses on the updating the information contained in the 2001 report from the Commissions services.
