Parliament stongly criticises ineffectiveness of OLAF investigations and communication

Brussels, 05/12/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament has sharply criticised the effectiveness of OLAF (Anti-fraud office) investigations and communication and considers that the protection of personal rights of those involved in certain affairs was insufficient. This results from the report of Herbert Bösch (PES, Austria), adopted on Thursday in Brussels by 381 votes for, 88 against and 18 abstentions, on a Commission report on OLAF activities.
