05/12/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Association of Public Banks (EapB) welcomes the Commission Communication on the creation of a legal framework for credit card payments, bank transfers etc (see EUROPE of 3 December, p 13). It nevertheless opposes the measure making banks responsible for conflicts between customers and traders, which would be unrealistic and would increase the costs for bank customers.
