Conferences and seminars for December

Brussels, 28/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - Below is an overview of the colloquia, conference and seminars scheduled for December and dedicated to European issues:

Les nouveaux visages du lobbying européen (Vincennes, 1st December). Seminar organised by the Centre des Etudes Européennes in Strasburg (CEES) in partnership with the Institut de la gestion publique et du développement économique (IGPDE) and Public Anthenor Affairs. This study day dedicated to European lobbying will gather together several leading actors from the sector, allowing for networking and the sharing of experiences. First European congress and exhibition on 1-1-2 (Brussels, 1st December). Colloquium organised by the EENA, the European Emergency Number Association. It will gather together representatives from companies, emergency services and citizen representatives with the aim of discussing the present and future of the 112 emergency number in Europe. Le rôle des partenaires sociaux dans la construction d'une citoyenneté européenne (Paris, 2nd and 3rd December). The aim of this colloquium organised by Europe et Société, with the support of the DGEAC, is to show how social partners were able to overcome the inherent difficulties in the existing diversity in the various member states throughout the European building process and to institute social dialogue integrating the general interest of the EU. Transeuropean Networks within an enlarged European Union (Brussels, 3 December). Conference organised by the Hanns Seidel Stiftung. Its aim is to make a link between the European action programme covering road safety and the situation of transport infrastructure in the context of an enlarged European Union. Le paysage, un projet pour la planète: (Issy les Moulineaux, 9 December). Day of debate and thought organised by the Fédération Française du Paysage. It will gather together 250 specialists in rural development and will be organised around five workshops on the countryside, including: a project for merger, adaptation, anticipation, innovation and opening; and a roundtable on the stakes of decentralisation. Modernisation du droit européen des ententes: quelles implications dans la pratique ? (Brussels, 10 December). Seminar organised by the Fédération des Entreprises de Belgique (FEB) and ICC Belgique. This study day will provide information on the implication of the reform of European competition regulation, which will provide a major role to national competition authorities and will result in greater company involvement within the process. The role of judge and their independence in the European jurisdictions (Brussels, 10 December). Roundtable organised by the Brussels Free University's Institute for European Studies in collaboration with Interights. Lobbying à l'heure de l'Europe et de la mondialisation (Paris, 11 December). Meeting organised by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with the Ordre des Avocats, and whose main axis will concentrate on two questions: Why lobbying? and how? Invest in the Balkans: opportunities and experience in South East Europe (Brussels, 11 December). Roundtable organised by the 'Friends of Europe,' the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the Constantinos Karamanlis Institute for Democracy, in association with the Coca-Cola Company and Standard & Poor and with the support of the Stability Pact for South East Europe. This event will notably allow participants to learn of the resources to be implemented in order to stimulate a new entrepreneurial culture in South Eastern Europe.
