According to Commission monitoring reports, ten accession countries should be ready to join EU in conditions that maintain its effective functioning - says Mr Verheugen - commission remains vigilant and does not exclude measures against latecomers

Brussels, 05/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - The final Commission monitoring reports published on Wednesday confirm that the ten accession countries have all agreed on the "particular efforts" for finishing their preparations for access and that they should be ready to join the EU in suitable conditions.
