Mr Pakso reaffirms Lithuania's ambition to join EMU and Schengen area between 2005 and 2008

Brussels, 05/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - In his speech to the European Parliament in Brussels on Wednesday, Lithuanian President Rolando Pakso pointed out his country's historical traditions within Europe. He referred in particular to an al fresco in the Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune church in Strasbourg, which sketched the map of Christian European in the 15th Century, and includes the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
