Postponement until 25 November of decision on French excessive deficit - by then Germany will have joined France in procedure

Brussels, 04/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Monday evening in Brussels, Finance Ministers from the member states of the Euro Area decided to postpone, until 25 November, the decision concerning the follow-up to be given to the procedure for excessive deficit initiated against France. Only the Netherlands, Austria and Finland showed their oppositions to this adjournment. The decision was notably motivated by the French Minister's, Francis Mer, promise to reduce his country's structural deficit...
