After Summit of Liberal Prime Ministers, Mr Verhofstadt hopeful of breakthrough on defence

Brussels, 16/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - European Liberal Leaders met in Brussels on Thursday morning for their traditional pre-European Council Summit, under the chairmanship of Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt. Among them were Prime Ministers Anders Fogh-Rasmussen (Denmark), Anton Rop (Slovenia), Matti Vanhanen (Finland), and the President of the European Commission, Romano Prodi, and of the European Parliament, Pat Cox.
