Alicante Trademark Office gets confirmation of principle of inequality of the EU's languages - Pyrrhic victory says Christina Kik's estate

Luxembourg, 01/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Court of Justice has finally drawn a line under the case that had set patent expert Christina Kik against the Alicante Trademarks Office for nearly ten years. Christina Kik demanded the right to use the Dutch language in her "Kik" trademark request.

The European judges confirmed the validity of the Office's linguistic regime, which uses German, English, Spanish, French and Italian as its working languages.
