Withdrawal of expatriate staff from UN agencies affecting Echo operations, especially in and around Baghdad and Bassora

Brussels, 26/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The announcement that the UN is to withdraw further expatriate staff from Iraq due to safety concerns will affect the humanitarian operations of Echo (the Community's humanitarian office), but projects are continuing, mainly using local staff.
