Liechtenstein and Jersey stand firm on banking confidentiality

Brussels, 26/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The most recent negotiations on tax on savings with third countries and with associated countries are at stalemate. Negotiations are well and truly blocked with Liechtenstein, the last of six third countries the Commission is negotiating an agreement with for them to apply "equivalent" measures to those in force in the EU, as of 2005, under the directive on taxation of savings.
