Brussels, 23/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - In the own initiative report of Henri Malosse (Employers group, France) on the 2003 IGC, which should be adopted on Thursday (see EUROPE 23 September p 17), the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is asking for the main checks and balances and principles obtained by consensus to be left alone in the constitutional draft treaty.
In view of the debates to follow at European and national levels, the EESC is recommending to IGC representatives to "include complementary additions, precessions and clarifications that could be used to strengthen the trust and commitment of citizens and organisations from civil society, notably in: -"strengthening the methods for implementing EU economic and social polices and by improving governance in the Euro zone; increasing the democratic principle of economic, social and monetary policies by increased.
