Council confirms position adopted in July - EPP/ED asks for 500 million EUR for Iraq in 2004

Strasbourg, 23/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The budget proposed by the Council is "reasonable", Mr Magri, Italian under-secretary of State and President of the Council, told the European Parliament on Tuesday, pointing out that the Council opted to retain a budget for a Union of Fifteen, with the reservation of requesting a rectifying budget for the needs of a Union of 25.
